Unity of Forensic Psychology
It was created by the Faculty of Psychology on the 15th May 2002
The Forensic Psychology Unit (GI-1754) is a research group formed by a team of teachers and researchers in training specialized in the field of Legal and Forensic Psychology. As a research group, it also develops a training function for researchers who apply for the same for the direction and supervision of doctoral theses, Master's Thesis and empirical Bachelor's Thesis, and for professors and postdoctoral researchers who formalize research stays with the group.
At the same time, the Forensic Psychology Unit is a knowledge transfer center based on the research it has developed. In this way, the Forensic Psychology Unit has been integrated, since 2002, into the Psychology Service of the Faculty of Psychology of the USC, which aims to "promote training, research and the transfer of knowledge in the fields of Psychology, offering, where appropriate, quality specialized care to the university community and society” (art. 1 of the Regulations of the Psychology Service). Likewise, and with the purpose of knowledge transfer, the Forensic Psychology Unit receives requests for stays from legal and forensic psychologists to train and update themselves in forensic techniques, procedures and intervention programs based on scientific evidence from the forensic team. investigation.
The research group is made up, in addition to USC researchers, also from external researchers (non-USC), both nationally and internationally, with whom networks and collaboration synergies have been established.
